Hosui pears are extremely crisp and juicy, with a butterscotch-like sweetness. Its complex flavors and popularity in Japan are due to a hint of acidity.

Hosui pears are generally served sliced and alone. Refrigerate to make the flavor even more crisp and refreshing. They have a spicy sweetness and can be marinated or sautéed like Western pears if ripened until tender.

Hosui is one of the most popular pear varieties in Japan. Grown in full sun, Housui pears are juicy and lush, with plenty of juice, just as the name "abundant water" implies. The crispy texture is very addictive. Please enjoy it well chilled.
